Little Pink Letter

I found this letter, it was addressed to you.
It was in a pink envelop smelling of baby powder
And a light fragrance perfume.
The envelop looked like it have been
Opened time and time again
The contents inside was a three page letter
With a little heart colored in the center...

I found this letter it was addressed to you
Did I dare to read it, or put it back where I found it
Hidden amongst other paperwork you marked as
"My treasures."
My curiosity got the best of me, but was my mind ready
To read every syllable, phrase, and sentence written?
I closed my eyes and let out a sigh and I prepared to read the first page written...

Dear you. I miss you so much. The way you made me laugh on a bad day
The way you hugged all my fears away..
The way you would held me tight while I slept at night.
Then carried me to bed making sure my head was gently laid on the pillow for the night.
I miss our question and answer sessions
And when you would teach me about some life lessons.

Dear you. Have I told you that I loved you yet? Well I do...
I love everything about you..
You make me smile. You wipe my tears away.
You give me cookies when she says I can't have any.
You're my hero in a cape
Help me to escape
And you always encouraged me..
Tears swelled up in my eyes as I read

Dear you. The days seem to be getting shorter
And this cold I have just won't go away.
I just want you by my side each and every day.
I don't want you to be sad, because the doctors said I don't have much longer.
Just remember the days we had together and all the fun and laughter.
Remember that I love you, and you will always be my father...

With the tears in my eyes.. this was a letter was to say good-bye from the little girl you hold
Close to your heart.
I found this letter that was addressed you as a reminder..
She will always love you.
